I am currently in year three working to my degree show in June. This year has seen a lot happening and some changes within the school. My year has been subject to some very successful experiments. The foremost of these took the form of an exchange with Aarhus University in Denmark. I will cover this in more detail next update.

The Mac has a tradition of producing fantastic architectural drawings. So it has become a custom for third year to produce an accurate measured drawing during the summer break after year two.
I spent weeks surveying my chosen building and produced a measured drawing that was awarded the RIAS measured drawing award for 2004.

The second project was a group project. An intervention based around our school which could be conceived on as large or smaller scale as we saw fit. Our project was successful. The strong point of year three certainly was the group work aspect and its value.

An orchid research laboratory formed the third project. At the projects core was the notion of total environmental harmony, and it involved a major technical and environmental submission. The building is situated on the edge Belhouston Park in an existing complex of council owned plant propagation green houses. This project was connected with interact, which is a group project where we learn first hand the interaction between architect, engineer and quantity surveyor. I am still to produce the final set of drawings for this project.

I am in the early stages of the final project. It was connected with the exchange visit and workshop in Denmark, with the site located in the port of Aarhus. In Denmark we experienced and saw evidence of the powerful forces which are moving the entire coast.
